I would love to see a table with the best players overall.

Not everybody plays the same custom map  -but when you compare the result relative to each other you should get a good comparison.

That sounds awesome - especially with the upcoming release of CW3, now is the time to request this as a feature for the new game.

In addition, the table could show the most prolific players - as in most high scores submitted.

It could show the 'fastest' players - lowest times.

And the 'best' players - highest scores.

Also other stats like most regular and oldest players still active.

Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Not really possible to get this information in any good way - any way to measure this can easily be exploited. It's possible to get it on specific maps but across all maps there just isn't enough common ground between all players (especially since most times aren't really people giving it their all). Without actually calculating it in some form however you might get a somewhat accurate list, but ultimately would devolve into a popularity contest.

EDIT: The biggest problems with using all maps is that some maps are just inherently longer/shorter than others etc., and some people are better at some types of maps than others. Also, is the best player a player that is capable of beating the greatest number of maps - or should the time be considered? How do you decide how much value is given to beating maps quickly compared to not being able to beat some maps at all?

The easiest way to get an idea is (with the existing DB) to take the average score from every map you played and show the % over or under. Also how much maps you played. Of course only players gets listed after n games (doesn't make sense to average 3 games).
And it's not about time - the results now are based on score.

Of course the risk is that you just don't submit your score if you know you where bad - but you definitely have a reason to play it again.

Risk? With the option to save and load and redo, it doesn't really matter, does it? You won't easily be able to find out who the best player is in terms of best score/time to least/limited number of tries/loads on a given map.

Best is subjective.   I say, just show top score, time, and most maps completed on the rolling tables.  The top scores and times would be from the most recent maps ~1 day or so old (only after x amount of score submissions)  and most maps completed is simple enough to show (scores posted)  of course this table will be toggle-able and only shown in respective catagories.  ( I.E. only showing custom map tables in the custom map area, and only showing story tables in the story section (only avalible after campain completion))

Nothing like some good ole fashioned competition to spice things up in CW3.

We have the community, this would be great :D

id instead like to see a cumulative score for code maps.

Everything is too long a list to work with.
No one knows everything about anything.
No one knows something about everything.
Everyone knows something about something.
Anyone could be the world's foremost expert on something.
Anyone who thinks that just because they didn't already know a thing, it must not be true or important, is an idiot.

That'd be cool. Or atleast like a leaderboard based on the overrall of atleast all bonus and story missions. That'd be cool.  ;D

Can't do ANY MapMod stuff due to losing my copy of CW1/2. Also known as Commander-Strife, IIIStrife, and StormyFacade.

Something fairly similar to what has been suggested here for custom maps did at one time exist for CW1. See this thread if you care to learn more.
