What the !@#$!@#$ am I missing here? I'm supposed to run a two-front defense with no build room for reactors, let alone research facilities, and the white emitter that can "hold its own" gets overrun within like 2 minutes of play?

I must be completely missing something. I absolutely do not understand all the upvotes this map has received, nothing I try lets me advance far enough to get build room for any sort of energy infrastructure, no energy to run defensive weapons on either side to any significant numbers, no energy for building, the white 2500k emitter gets overrun by creeper/drones in minutes...

Someone help me out because I can't see how this map is remotely possible, but there are all kinds of times posted.

I kind of recall playing that map - and it is in my list with a completion score. I remember that I needed a few restarts.  But it is indeed do-able.  Not sure I want to struggle through it right now just to give you some hints, though. Sorry.  Good luck anyway.

You probably *don't* want to struggle through it, because struggle is what it is.  My last attempt I decided to abandon the space near the white emitter and defend the one block gap, but all that did was give me an extra minute or three before I was bum-rushed by armored/high-health drones, which of course demolished the level 1 blasters, let in creeper, and generally ruined that attempt.

I cannot downvote this map hard enough.

Well, I guess i'm not sure where exactly you're having trouble - the most threatening thing I suppose is that drones destroy lots of anti-creeper when they explode, so you want to be careful to not let too many of the low health drones fly through the anti-creeper. I pretty much let the first wave of them die from the anti-creeper and then held the rest of them off with about 6 blasters (move the blasters as far forward as possible and set to drone only). On the left side just build 4 repulsors and 1 launcher and that's going to be well defended for a very long time (until drones can actually reach there). As for the high health drones breaking free well.. to be honest I had already nullified the emitter by then, but just build more blasters by then and you should be fine (be sure to set all your blasters to drone only). Only use launchers for the creeper on the right side, it's too dense for blasters to be efficient, especially since you already have a huge amount of anti-creeper. Once that emitter is nullified just dig behind the gateways and nullify them too, and use the huge pile of anti-creeper to overpower all the other emitters.
