Another CW3 OSX Issue: Unhandled NULL Exception

Hi Everyone,

So I had originally been playing CW3 on my old Macbook Pro and never really ran into an issue, this was before the steam release.
Come the steam release, I get my key and start playing like mad. Throughout I notice minor issues like steam cloud sync complaining but still seeming to do things or having to force kill the application, but it was still playable for the most part.

Finally, more recently, every time I start the game it loads the Knucklecracker logo but that signature crack never comes. Soon, the process goes into Not Responding and has to be killed.

OSX 10.8.5 13-Inch Mid 2013 Macbook Air.

I would get this on occasion before, one every 4-5 game starts. Now it is unplayable, even after reinstalling / wiping / etc. ON top of that, I now figure my entire campaign is gone on my steam version since I am not 100% certain it was actually backing up my saves.

Any ideas appreciated.

Does the non-steam version work fine?  If so, try disabling the steam overlay on the game before launching it.  (Right click the game in the steam client list to bring up the properties)

Wow, I have been a steam user since before the HL2 release and I didn't think of this. I must be getting senile.
And thankfully, despite steam constantly complaining about the autosync it does appear to have saved everything.

Thank you Virgil for pointing out the obvious for me. Otherwise, performance on this little guy has been amazing with CW3, never any lag except under the most ridiculous creeper situations.
