Make it so the unlit is pitch black. Then beacons are lighthouses (fog of war)

What do you think? (I know this has been suggested, so KEES, don't point that out)

I've seen this in some games labeled as "Lighthouse Mode".  I would like to see this, as it would make maps more challenging?

The main reason this interesting looking option is not that interesting, is that anyone can open a map in the map editor, so even the first time you play it doesn't have to be a surprise.

But if they were going to do that. They obviously don't care, an will probably cheat on every map...

In all honesty I don't see how it would be cheating any more than ever restarting any map, or ever using the save/load feature - I just don't think fog of war style maps really suit a game like this where there is virtually no randomness.

Being well prepared for war isn't cheating.... ;)

Or just keep the editor window open next to the game.
