I'm having a lot of fun on this map. It was lagging in the beginning, because there's lots of particles and my computer might be a bit slow, but it got better after they settled. The help me! is a bit garish, but nothing a few beams can't clean up!

Great map, epic without being impossible. Nice to see Yum's maps again.

That was a lot of fun! Those tank lathes were awesome. Really impressed with how many particles a wall of them could hold off. Thank goodness, too, cuz some of those emitters went crazy when you got close to them.

Like most of yum234's maps, I cannot seem to get past the early stage because the need to hold off particulate while stabilizing a reasonable economy keeps forcing me into fail positions.

How can I stabilize income without being overrun too soon?

Energy pods are useful for getting some ships and omnis up and running quickly, even when your actual income is crappy.  Apply your starting gems to the three energy source upgrades: land production, mine production, and Omni reactors.  Run around with the corporate HQ to gather mines and energy pods.  Don't worry about getting additional gems with the corporate HQ-leave this for when you have some breathing space.

Oh, and the tank lathes are pretty powerful with a whopping 5 lasers each-just pause frequently and micromanage them instead of building cruisers.

Don't forget to turn their particle beams off-those things are unneeded power hogs in the early stages.

You are right. At the beginning of game exist some lag. It because I just study PF game via "editor". Now I know how to set some parameters of emitters for decreasing such problems.

Among my custom ships TANK LATHE is the most useful (by my opinion).

My only criticism of it is that it could use a couple more hull pieces flanking the cockpit. As it is currently, a rogue particle or ship projectile can slip into the gap, hit the cockpit, and trash the ship with a single hit. Maybe this was by design to balance the ships power, but it wouldn't be that expensive to add a couple hull pieces to better protect the cockpit, and thus the ship.

Thank You for good comment. Recently I just study PF game via editor. And now understand that You are right. It the same as with my KAMIKAZE ship: now I created more cheaper and better FastBOMB ship with the same function.

Just a note....putting 100 particle cannons on a single ship sounds fun, but it drives up the cost for construction and eventually doesn't do much that 2-4 can't already do...PLUS particle cannons SUCK UP ENERGY FASTER THAN A TURBO BOOSTED VACUUM!

Among my custom ships TANK LATHE is the most useful (by my opinion).

The tank lathe is useful in a lot of situations, but there is that one glaring vulnerability already pointed out.  A single stray cannon shot can direct hit the cockpit and you just lost your amp gemmed, full tanked lathe you thought was safely tucked away out of harm.

Its great for holding off particles, and when you can't spare an escort, a single tank lathe with a full tank (with particle beams on) can take out even the craziest emitter single handed!  (This, and clearing plasma are the only times those particle beams should ever be turn on... any other time its just an energy sink) The particle beams and lasers keep you safe when your lathe does its work.  BUT, it can NOT take out an energy mine.  A single shot from an energy mine cannon will destroy the lathe.  (at which point you have to retreat and hope the mine doesn't get that lucky shot at your cockpit)

It's frustrating when either scenario happens in your otherwise flawless strategy.  Great, lost my tank lathe... got to build another.  Great, tank lathe lost its lathe to an otherwise defenseless energy mine, have to wait for it to repair before I can take over that energy mine and advance...

But, some of your other maps have much better lathe ships, so my complaint is a bit late. :)
