In the Virlgil introduced me to the concept of Blaster Leapfrog. It is a very powerful way to invade pools of creeper around an emitter and cap off the emitter.

If you can reach in and position a Blaster within firing range of the emitter, the blaster will effectively cap off the emitter and stop it from producing any more creeper.

Here is a short pictorial of how to go use this tactic to cap an emitter:

You need.
 - sufficient energy to keep your blasters firing at full rate, since you will be dropping the forward blaster directly into pools of creeper.
 - 3 blasters.

In short, two blasters take up a forward position and you add a collector to the collector chain that keeps the blasters supplied with ammo. If needed, the collectors can be replaced with relays that have a better reach.

The third blaster them moves forward and carves out an advanced position ahead and in front of one of the two front blasters.

This frees up one of the original blasters to move forward and in front of the the initial forward pair of blasters, creating a new safe spot for another collector. Rinse, repeat.

Rinse, repeat.

Finally one blaster can reach the emitter and cap it off.
