I'm still finishing off the last maps of GCL to get ultimate maximum scores. I can't play more than one a day that way, so I have a few more to go....

I have a spreadsheet to track which ones are completed and which ones are next on the list. :(

TLMike

That's adorable XD
I was doing that for a while, too. Takes me about 2 or 3 hours to finish a map on Endurance. You know, with all those multipliers. It does help when HP tops out at 10 trillion and you can just rush the last... 1100 waves.

Karsten75

Yep, that's more or less my current strategy. Around wave 40-70 I've achieved all the map objectives, created a Orange-Lime-Yellow gem trap in every tile of the path and lined the path with amplifiers. Then it's merely a mater of ramping up the number of monsters per wave, the gem grades and as soon as I've angered the waves to beyond the maximum they will elevate to (around 9,999,999,999,999,999 HP? - I may be off by 3 decimals), I speed up and release all the waves.  I once tried to break my 540,000 kill-streak, but if I do that I usually fall asleep from boredom. :)

Anyway, here's my current spreadsheet's screenshot. As you can see I've got trouble in the Pylon levels but Peter said he nerfed those - hence my multiplier is always low :(

The max multiplier on Pylon fields should be 14583.8x. To max out the Summon Multiplier, you have to have summoned one fewer monsters than you killed. So 9000 summons to 9001 murders. Leaves you with a summon multiplier of 50.00x.

From what I am reading, someone posted this.

From armorgames:

"We still don't have a hard release date yet, as the game isn't 100% sexy and ready to release. Peter is working as fast as he can to get the final touches done. The plan, as of now, is to release either this Friday or Monday."

I hope it still be out on October on steam, lol.

This video really took my GCL to a new level.
To think I'd beat all the levels and completed many on endurance without knowing you could Hold Shift-G to combine multiple gems.  The first time I beat an endurance level with max settings and jumped something like 200 levels was very satisfying.  Now I'm level 3227 and could be much more but I started over to see how the new strats applied from the beginning(very well).
"If every trace of any single religion were wiped out and nothing were passed on, it would never be created exactly that way again. There might be some other nonsense in its place, but not that exact nonsense. If all of science were wiped out, it would still be true, and someone would find a way to figure it all out again."   Penn Jillette

There's a ton of keyboard shortcuts. Those sorts of things are actually really intuitive....

I don't think I could play GCL without keyboard shortcuts, but it's rare these days that I need to combine gems in the side slots. I do it for 2 or 3 gems only. THe one gem is the one I put in a trap to get the 2,000 gem kills with one gem. Then the one or two (depending on layout) I use in Shrines to get the required 120 Shrine kills.

Level 3227 - :) Yea, I don't recall that anymore. I'm at level 10,993. See that middle save game? That's the screenie I sent to Peter to show him how high one can get playing *only* the very first level. I can get that within 3 matches if I'm very careful. :)

Edit: I've watched that video and I don't agree with the guy's approach. Early on, before I had such high XP levels, I used two types of gems, now I use one only. My problem is that if I get much over 8k monsters on the track, my game starts lagging so much that I will fall asleep between angering waves.  I usually don't drop more than 12 (most often only 9 or 6) grade 18-20 gems on each wave.

My two-gem strategy consisted of alternate Orange/Lime/Yellow and Orange/Lime/Purple gems. I used the purple to strip away the high levels of armor so the gems could kill more slowly at lower levels, getting many more hits.

Godsbrother

Yeah, I don't do exactly what he does in the video, but it opened me up to doing things differently then I had.   Now I tend to have a mana farm at the start with one orange/lime/Lblue surrounded by orange amplifiers,  the light blue holds lots of creepers in place to get hit extra times.  And a yellow/lime/red kill gem near the end surrounded by lime amps, then yellow amps at higher levels.  Add just a few support purple/lime/blue or Lblue gems and everything goes real quick.   The best part is that by using a few high level gems instead of many medium level gems the lag is kept to a minimum.   Also I only ever bomb waves with 3-4 gems.

@Karsten75 level 10,000+   that's impressive, you must have ungodly mana.  I'm sure I'll be on to the new GC before I have the patience to complete every level on endurance.

I love both games. Although I think GC0 was better than GCL, except for the pause button and up to 12 grade gem(and duplicate, upgrade, etc).

Can't wait for GC2. And CW4 if there's gonna be such a thing hehe. Still need to finish the CW1 storyline and buy CW2 and 3...I'm just stuck at making custom maps! Lolz.

PS: I think I'm a pro on GC0 so need any off-topic tips just ask(o_o).
