[workaround found] [Bug] mission editor doesnt work. Stays on this screen

Unresponsive UI, Cant scroll, most UI buttons dont work, I cant exit out of the editor. I cant place ships. Cant edit anything. Im forced to shut down my computer. Any workaround i can perform?

At a guess: you loaded a corrupt map file. The best thing you can do to help the issue get resolved is post your log file.
Pretty sure I'm supposed to be banned, someone might want to get on that.

I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, it seemed to have worked.

EDIT: nope i loaded it a second time, did not work.

Ok i did find something.

If i dont name the map when I hit create new map. It works fine. But when i name it something, it does the bug.

I had a similar problem, can you tell me what exactly you name the maps?

I didnt name it anything. It worked when it was just "My Map".

Ok then. I noted that using colons (:) in the map name caused the same problem.

Map names are used for the name of files.  So anything that might be an illegal character in a file name could cause a problem.  I'll look into making colons, slashes, and backslashes illegal in map names.
