As the mission to invade all countries is just about over, I think its time to start up a new mission. I have looked at the list of current members and there are 1395 members. I think this could be a good list to start working our way through.

I hope you will all help me in this undertaking.

Instructions:
Choose any of the code mission names not yet finished and get to work! Post here when you have completed a map, and also remember to post here if you run into a map that is impossible to work. I will then try to maintain and update the list. Please also nominate those maps that are fun/challenging to play.

To mix it up a bit, I have specifed a setting for each column, as shown in the top row.

BLACK=Un-completed
RED=Completed
Green=Completed and fun/Challenging.

Any size and difficulty; or are we going for all large/high?

Im thinking Large/High, unless we have a good reason to do otherwise? I suppose for sake of mixing it up, we could do some as Small/High, some as Medium/High, and some as Large/High.

Ok, I changed the setting so that each column gets its own setting to be completed on. This should leave some more variaty between the maps.

Just build some phantom coils and don't mess your digging up and you can get your tech and resources easy.

Generally when attacking titans without experimentals, launchers and in particular repulsors and shields are your friends. Also, it can help to save some crystal energy to allow 60+ energy usage (though 90M is, at least without drones, beatable with lower energy). It might be possible to take out the top two emitters fast enough to prevent the bottom chambers to merge (so you can take out one emitter without bothering about the other), but such may require Kithros' time management.

I've done Crysen I had around 20 Blasters and 20 Launchers all aimed at a small opening on the bottom left and it still took me around 20 minutes just to pound the creeper down, drones shouldn't even be able to get near the shields you need more blasters for the drones there has to be a better way to do it.

There isn't anything really stopping you from moving blasters back and building more shields - use more blasters to cover for the blasters as they're moving if necessary. Worst case scenario just use lots of repulsors on the choke point you made for yourself (hopefully with a length of more than 1 cell), and have the launchers fire into the choke point. Launchers + repulsors can hold massive densities off if given a choke point.

CrazedSeal is a pain.  Chamber after chamber after chamber.  Nothing hard, though.

Crawford is down.  A sideways map with a moderately early breakthrough, no big deal.

crammit is finally down.  You'll very soon be facing a full-width chamber just under the surface.  Once the soil decays you have half a dozen emitters, two fields and two drone bases in there and you'll have only 10 energy to power your attack.  More a matter of slow and annoying than actually hard, though.

cramer is down.  One of these strange maps with rock walls that almost partition it.  One area was entirely walled in but fortunately had no creeper.

cquante is down.  Experimentals, easy.

Cotters is giving me trouble.  Killing the 60m titan at the edge of the map was bad enough but there's a 120m supertitan with drones is beyond me.

corgano is down.  Another case of partitions, no challenge.

Colin has been defeated.  A bit of care is needed, there's an emitter in an open chamber and drones break through into it in a bit.  Gravity is a big help, though.

coleslav isn't a challenge.

Cohiba wouldn't challenge a kitten.

CodeKiller makes Cohiba's kitten look dangerous.

coachjc has a deep but open cavern containing an ultratitan in zero-g.  At least you have experimentals to deal with it.

cnap.  Limited build area but no other problems.

clubs123.  Limited build, otherwise it's routine.

(I advanced while the field pointed down and left; then held on behind the shields when it rotated to up and right.)

Definitely a fun fight.  ;D

What I haven't figured out is how to survive opening the chamber when you have the drones that will smash any shields you put up.  Once the initial pressure buildup is dealt with it's ok.

1. Clear out everything other than the titan chamber and build lots of reactors/tech domes.
2. Upgrade fire rate and range.
3. Go in at the top right. (I actually went in a bit below the surface with very little beyond my vertical shaft for weapon space.)

I'm stuck on Christ_Is_King.  Zero-G, exposed emitter that I can't shield off in time.  Cage it and it would be easy, there are experimentals if you can get enough power for a dark beam.

christoff92 is defeated.  It's all one huge chamber but no other difficulties.

Christie1981 is beyond me.  Zero-g, surface emitter, exposed drones and phantoms.  Maybe a dig-in expert could win this--there's space and enough build area to power a dark beam.

Chrisles is tough.  Surface emitter and upside-down build.  Fortunately it's also upside-down gravity.

chri323x is down.  A breakthrough that's not really all that early proved quite a pain for some reason.  One great big S-shaped chamber.

chretip is another easy one.

Christ_Is_King is down. I started by moving the ship down and building 5 shields across the gap. Then I build as many reactors as I could. When the field pushes right, you have to fill part of the gap with reactors, allowing you to refresh your shields, and also allowing you acces to the 2 diamonds on the left side. Then I build up more reactors, and finally got to have enough for a dark beam. The main trick is to build shields each time the field pushes right, and throw in a Conversion bomb if needed to keep the overall creeper intensity from getting too bad.

Cheesy was easy.

cheeseman isn't so cheesy--an exposed emitter and another that quickly links to it that restricts you to less than 5 energy before you must fight them.  Gravity goes a long way to reducing the threat, though.

Cheesecake has me stumped just looking at the layout.  One exposed emitter, one that will break through, both with drone bases (and they're going to be pumping out a huge pile of drones) and a total available build space to fight these of about one layer.  There are some gems laying around but you can't grab any of them without opening another path to the creeper.

Chasofito is down.  Easy.

Charlie Brown has got me.  An exposed emitter, drones & gobs of phantoms.  The experimentals make no difference.

Chani is another easy one.

challenger is only a minor challenge.  There's a fairly early breakthough but plenty of build space and experimentals to deal with the emitter.

cerbamofo is easy.

I do updates in batches.

If you watch the movie in full screen I do think you can see the numbers. Do remember, that I pick up 5 crystals during the first 3 minutes. There is also at around 2 mins playtime a perioud where im starving for energy and my blasters almost dont have the energy to shoot. I spam reactors as much as I feel save doing, in every spot I can find. Note that repulsors can be disconnected for quite long periods of time, which can be usefull when needing that extra energy for finishing a nullifier.

I would like to point out that CheeseCake is actually a lot easier if you kill the emitter on the left pre-emptively before the terrain decays through - the fields turn slowly enough that you have enough time to nullify the emitter without needing to fight any creeper (use 5 shields or so to deal with the initial burst of drones, and then 2 blasters). If you kill the emitter quickly as well as killing off the stuff on the right side, there's little to do but mop everything up at that point. It's quite possible to have killed both emitters and gateways at the top by 2 minutes in.

CatoSterling is down.  A bit tough due to a chamber with an emitter and drones but more it was a matter of a huge slogging match as the chamber in question soon breaks through all the way to the bottom of the map connecting all emitters and gateways.  Even though it provides some challenge I won't nominate it because most of the battle consists of simply inching your forces down row by row by row.

I'm stumped on Cary.  There isn't enough build area to deal with the chamber that's going to break through at about 1:40.

Carthage1000 is down.  One early breakout to contain, limited space.

As is Carmen.  Quite limited build before you have to engage a breakout.

carderw is a piece of cake.  Build all and over 60 energy before you need to engage.

carbar is also easy.

Cabptain Obvious is obviously solved by moving right.

Caprica is defeated.  Exposed emitter and then one superchamber.

Capn Trey is down.  Exposed emitter, early breakthrough of tough drones, limited build.  The only saving grace is inverted gravity.

Camet, no way.  Exposed emitter and drone base.

Callean, no way.  An exposed emitter that only serves to cramp your base, sideways build that slows you and then a pack of drones that I can't counter.

caatraa is no big deal.

C10B is sideways and no big deal.

Callean is down. Move the ship down, while building shields accross the gap. Grab white gem, then 2 red gems. When field turns, nullify the first emitter, then move ship left, and release the central creeper so that it will flow to a safe area. Start building in the left area, and from there rest of map is cake.

Brandon_R is finally down.  Experimentals, breakout at 1:42 that you need a dark beam for.  It took several tries before I had one up a couple of seconds before the breakout.  After that it's just tedious.  There's a emitter over 600 million in there.

brainwaves is easy due to upside-down gravity that drains the exposed emitter.

BrainTrusT is down.  Very limited build but otherwise no big deal.

bobandirus is done.  There were so many bonuses on this I ended up scoring over 10k.

Bob1962 is done.  Zzzzzz.

bman654.  Upside-down, tons of phantoms, one of these maps with rock lines on it, part of it is inaccessible but you simply lose one bonus.

blueburby1 is finally down.  Things start out easy.  Near the bottom is a titan that's no big deal.  The ultratitan + drones at the bottom are a real tough nut to crack, though.

blgarin is a pain--build right and a pack of phantoms.  Once you get established it's routine, though.

Blaze is down.  Routine.

Blauwbaard is tough.  Multiple breakouts from what will soon become a single superchamber full of fast drones.  Hold the line against the drones and it becomes routine.

Blaine is routine.

Bladactania is down.  12 phantoms + upside-down build is annoying but that's all.

BL24 has me.  It's got experimentals but I can't live long enough to build one.  There's a 15M emitter with a link to the surface that can be plugged for a while but soon there's a breakthrough underground that releases very tough drones.  There are no crystals that aren't suicide to grab.

Not a member name here, but I was inspired by this thread to check out the names of my friends elsewhere, and found a really fun one. Carmichael Micaalus has one of the best mission-start challenges that I've yet seen. Long-term, it's not horribly difficult, as it's an experimental map, but surviving the first few minutes and getting established enough to set up that first dark beam is rather enjoyable. I found a rather weird start solution, but I'm curious to see how some of the more skilled players around here would do it.

That's nothing, try 132 large/high. Or, try one which is impossible because of large amounts of creeper; boo large/high.

When you say "that's nothing" I assume you have managed to post a score? If not, please don't make small of other players' achievements.

In fact, searching under your forum name, I find no custom maps that you have posted a score on. That despite the fact that you are a map moderator. So either you post scores using a different handle or you don't post any scores at all. Which is it?

I had a look, but I wasn't fast enough to dig in underground, which would be the way I'd attempt that map. I got close, but I suck at energy and build management in CW2. Much more so than I did in CW1.

Billy Bones is down.  One big chamber with a dozen phantoms, a huge field & drones to engage with 14 energy and little tech.  A pain.

Bile is down.  A tricky start, without the gems it's hopeless.  There's a very active drone emitter that will flood you before you can get blasters up but you can hold them off for a little bit with shields.  Once you survive that and get your power up it's just slow.

bikkethepirate is down.  An experimental cakewalk.

bigschank is down.  A dozen phantoms and limited build area make this a pain.

BigRed45 is an experimental cakewalk.

Biglulu is down.  An early breakout that's easily contained, nothing special.

Bighorn is down.  Easy.

I don't know what a heg dog is, let alone a big one.  Whatever it is it's defeated, though.

Sesame street is down one experimental cakewalk of a bird.

The large fish of 15 years ago is down.  Routine.

bhoover56 is down.  Routine.

betadata is down.  You start with cramped space but it's otherwise routine.

BermanPost seems to be impossible.  The killer is a 17M emitter in an exposed chamber (zero-g to boot) along with a drone base.  Immediately shielding the opening gets the shields up in the nick of time but the drones are just going to bust through them and there's no way I'll have a blaster ready by then.  Even if you can survive this there are 10 phantoms to make life even more difficult.  There are some gems but after blocking the chamber I don't have enough power to get them without delays.  If you could survive all this I think there's enough space to power a dark beam and make the rest of it easy.

Beoir is down.  Routine.

Benofdoom is no doom.  Routine.

Ben without the doom is also routine.

beirirangu is down.  Routine.

BeeTee is a build-any.  Cramped but no big deal.

beefy wasn't so beefy.

beavis23 has an exposed emitter and multiple breakthroughs in not too long.  High gravity lets you nail the first emitter pronto, beyond that it's no big deal.

The British bear is no more.  Routine.

bdozen seems impossible.  Most of the top of the map is a chamber that's quickly going to break out.  Building is going to be quite slow as it's upside-down.  There's no safe place for the LS, it would have to be protected with repulsers which I seriously doubt I could power.  The drones that come with the breakout just make an impossible situation even worse.

Argh--two bad ones in a row.  I see no answer to bbkin, either.  It's a build right, an exposed emitter that denies you the left side of the map and drones appear from the beginning.

BayernBursche is totally routine.

Basketti is a build-all cakewalk.

It's time to have a cow, BartSimpson is down.  Easy.

Bacteriophage is rotten.  Tons of decaying ground that makes the early base a big problem.  Cramped build.  It took multiple tries and even then I lost half my base to the drones when the ground decayed.

Azar is too much for me.  The emitter and drone base open to the surface take some timing to hold off but soon there's a breakthrough underground that dumps a lot more creep & some tough drones, I see no way to deal with them.

AutoPost is another experimental.  There are too many emitters to call it a cakewalk.

I also built a few shields and moved the blasters out of the path of the drones. Losing a reactor or 2 is much better than losing a blaster.

ascarybear isn't scary.

Asaline has phantoms at 35 second intervals, it's annoying but no challenge.

artimies7 is quite ordinary until you get to the supertitan in the basement.  Done.

arrowheadx16 is easy.  The only thing that's not an absolute cakewalk is 12 phantoms on a 45 second cycle.  Other than that I had over 100 energy when I engaged the chamber with the two emitters, my research was over 2 per cycle when I finished up my research.

Arky is down.  Another with gobs of space--again I got over 2 research per cycle before I was done.

Arachnea is a tricky start.  There will be 4 breakthroughs that will try to dump creep on "top" (it's sideways) of the little scrap of land you can build your base on.  Once you're past this it's easy.

I see no approach to Aquillion.  There's a surface emitter with a field and 8 phantoms from a shallow gateway that you have to defend against.  It's just too much.

applemachome is like a mac--easy.  Gobs of time before the breakout.

No go on amigo1.  The only place to build is a little scrap of land "under" an emitter.  The fact that the ground is rotten didn't matter, I didn't have the power to stop the drones, let alone the creep that's being dumped on my base.

I fared no better on Alyssa~.  There's a huge load of drones that break free at about 1:25.

Alwego is easy, however.  That's the problem with these random ones--they tend to be either easy or hard, very few in the middle.

Aquillion  is down. Took me 8 tries to get the start just right.

amigo1 looks bad at first. If your quick, you can grab the blue and green gem immediatly. Then you can move the LS left, and grab the white gem, then move the LS down and dig/shield in on the left side, using the heavy rightwords gravity to keep you safe.

Tried Alyssa~ alot, but haven't been able to get past the release of drones. There is too many of them, and they are too darn fast.
   *Correction, a few more attempts and I finally managed to get it just right. Alyssa~ is now down.

The bathroom turkey (alooturkey) seems hopeless.  Zero-g with a powerful surface emitter.  Even with a gem I haven't succeeded in going underground in time.  The fact that it's got experimentals means nothing.

alooturkey was quite easy to me. Grab the gem (quick.cw2), set up a fortress on the right with shields (slot0.cw2), build up energy and additional layers of shields as necessary, then build a dark beam (slot1.cw2). Finding the right plan is often more important than the right execution. (I don't feel like slogging through the rest of the map- whoever does is free to.)

allu is easy.  On the preview the map looks like some big clawed monster attacked it.

AllenD23 is so trivial I see no point in actually playing it out.  There's one chamber buried way down with a 3.5M emitter in it and some drones.  The Small versions of the map are all insta-win.

Allan is a bit annoying as it's upside-down but it's pretty routine.

Alive has been shot down.  A very annoying exposed emitter but the gravity helps.

AlexisNery is down.  Dig carefully, the ground is rotten.

Alex1010 is tricky at the start--there's a massive U-shaped chamber just below the ground, it breaks through quickly.  Fortunately there are no drones in it.

Alex I haven't figured out.  Build space is horribly limited and a volcano (surface emitter + field) has rendered the surface uninhabitable.  I managed to live for quite a while by making an underground base protected by repulsors and moved my LS to the upper corner of the map (digging the LS in isn't an option.)  With underground breakthroughs it became too much, though, the 3.85 energy I could generate wasn't able to hold the line, let alone advance.

aattss is impossible at least if you don't play run-from-the-drones.  I believe the count is 21 drones from a gateway that has access to the sky.

Even without them it would be exceedingly hard as there appears to be no more than about 20 spaces on which one can build.

I won't call Aanze1313 impossible but it's certainly beyond me.  At about 2 minutes in there's a breakout of health 18 drones.

I see no possible approach to a3kHH without even starting the map.  There's an open gateway and not more than a dozen build spaces.  I can't imagine surviving until the creeper breaks out, let alone beating it.

I finally got one: a1160408 is routine.

Likewise 5ulo.  Plenty of space, no phantoms.

@ Loren: a3kHH  is actually not that hard, if you start by grapping the green and red gem, and building reactors after that. You only need to "dodge" the first few drones and then your good to go. The leftward gravity helps immensely in reducing the thread from the open emitter.

Im holding off on the updates for a while, as I am working on a tool to scrape the information automatically, kinda like the tool used for the weekly tournaments.

So far I have managed to gather the information into a access database, now I just need to work out how to output the information in such a way that it is ready to be pasted into the forums.

This will also allow me to do some statistics such as who has completed most maps and such.

I'm really puzzled about how you reformatted the grid compared to the original--the columns are of different lengths, yet when I spot-check names are still in the same columns as before.


Anyway, hell will have to freeze over before I call HellFreeze hard.

davidp, the only threat is phantoms, experimentals make a cakewalk of the rest of the map.  I went in with bombs this time--somehow it seems wrong to have billions in useless anticreeper at the end.  (A large chamber with every cell > 100m)

I first read in my original post of this thread in a Access database using Visual Basic for applications.

I then parsed the text in that post, and updated each record in Access based on which column the player name was found in, and whether or not it had been marked green for fun.

I then created a script to request the member page of this forum, and parsed the html looking for new names (The 300 or so new names since the thread started). I then looped through those new maps (Which had not been assigned a size (small medium large) and assigned a size based on which had the least amount of maps.

Finaly I created a script that loops through all the members and asking Knucklecracker.com for scores on each and every map (1600 maps).

The last bit was to convert the information now stored in tables back into a forum post.

Yeah, I get weird looks from people who don't when I say "It was really fun/interesting!" upon finishing a small program which sets and gets various numbers sorted into boring-looking grids. They just don't understand.

I used to work mostly in Pascal/Delphi but they have made so many bad business decisions that I've gone over to C#.  I still love Delphi but I wouldn't do anything serious in it anymore because I don't feel I can count on it for the long run.

davidgale was certainly a challenge. Its amazing how such a weak topside emitter can manage to be such a threat. Took me 4 tries before I finally got it, by first grapping all gems on the right side, then moving over left and building on the left hand side, protected by shields and blasters.

davedarave has a tricky start--an early breakthrough with drones.  The gravity makes it possible but you have to go after the emitter with less than 4 energy.  Otherwise routine.

While the scores are collected automatically, the green "fun/challenging" marking is added manually (in my database). I would like if you could be clear about whether you think these should be marked as green or not.

To call DAVAtheSwede a cakewalk would be an understatement.

I completed research with 100 energy and 2.2 points per turn and without building any weapons.  By the time I actually had stuff to fight with I was up to 120 energy.

So far this is the best start I could have in 2b3o4o, after dodging a shhload of drones. At this point im overwhelmed.

Yes, it was a hard map, especially the start. After that it was a considerable slog, but I managed to post a score.

Screenshot of my setup is attached; build enough shields between the drones and the left part of the map (each shield takes five drones) and grab the red gem. Simultaneously start building reactors as far left as possible. With the red gem build two blasters, from there be quick and there should be no problem (mind the phantoms).

You should take a crack at custom map #10, Nor'easter, I found that to quite challenging, and which maps you have posted scores on I believe you might find it fun.

Titans with experimentals are normally cakewalks.  It's better without titans, period.

Darodar.  Tricky start--you have to fight an emitter with only 2 energy.  Fortunately the fields just let you pull this off.  Otherwise it's routine.


Darkrai--I think this one is impossible just from the start map.  There are two exposed emitters, center and right.  They have too many open blocks to hope to shield before the creep spills out, not to mention the hopelessness of maintaining those shields.  The gravity is down-left so the creep is going to pile on your base.  Digging in isn't an option.  The 12 phantoms and the 22 drones that will in time break out won't matter.

darkniko--it's a race between the exposed titan and getting enough power for the experimentals.  When I used bombs to protect the shields I finally got it.

DarkJMKnight--cramped start, otherwise routine.

Darkhole--exposed emitter, early breakthough of nasty drones.  It wasn't that hard, though.

Darkrai done. The middle top emitter can be capped with 2 shields and the crystal energy thanks to the fields. After that the only part that poses a huge threat is when the drones break out and the constant phantoms. Overall quite a fun map

As is Dark18

Dariush has a dozen phantoms every 35 seconds from a gateway near the surface.  Other than that it's routine.

Daos is routine.

danx has a surface emitter.  The gravity keeps it from being a big problem.

DanTheGoodMan is notable only for the lack of ore.  (There are some ore specials you can dig up, though.)  The exposed emitter is no threat with reasonable play.

Dang3781 is routine.

dallabeneta might be possible to those of you who play drone tag but I don't think so.  I'm not going to try.  There is one drone base that has immediate access to the sky and one more that will break through.  A third is no threat.  There are 38 total, gobs seem to be coming from the first base.

Even if you get all the drones from the first base chasing you you then have the breakout to deal with.  You also have very little space to build anything.

Dalas has got me.  The build space is very limited and I simply can't cope with the field that keeps shoving creeper up to the surface.

zenburger84 is routine.

I started out trying to build low and got destroyed by the breakthrough from the left.  I think simply tried holding the line while I did research but even that didn't work, the fields were playing with the creep in ways that didn't give me enough time to replace shield cells.

wpolly is a bit cramped but otherwise routine.

whiteluigi is another routine one.  In the preview it looks like you have a lot of decaying blocks that will mess up your base but they don't actually connect to the creep.

VooDoo1 has experimentals and no breakthoughs.  Cakewalk.

vincomvina has a surface emitter and a surface drone base with at least 15 drones.  Maybe someone who likes playing tag has a chance here, I don't see one.

unlimite is routine but annoying due to the number of chambers to fight.

Tualatin is routine.

Challenge completed. It's rather easy to cap off the emitter. Then work like crazy (start building DB immediately upon obtaining the green crystal), and it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm sure SmileyCoder will pulverize my time.

I'm not surprised :). On times I would say that absolute measure is not that good an indicator. For a particular map, I'd say there is some sort of exponential or reciprocal decay in the difficulty of a particular time: it's hard to chop off 20% from a good time, but rather easy to do so from a lousy/casual effort.
I'm sorry for bothering you with my mathematical approach to such things; if time ever permits, I may produce an analysis on some thoroughly played maps (e.g. popular custom maps or from a certain tournament) to see how the behaviour is. Though I'd be happy to leave such matters to people more into applied mathematics.

From the preview I see no hope of dealing with DDarkJared.  Exposed emitter, exposed gateway, phantoms and upside-down build.  The only hope of living is a little bit on the left with the creep going by overhead and with the upside-down build getting the power for blasters to defend against the drones seems out of the question.

dd790 has fields that are annoying but that's it.

Well I loaded up a few of the savegames I took while playing. Don't know how informative they are, but your are welcome to them.

First I went right, and used shields to kill the drones, while digging for the green gem, and then the white gem. Took a few tries to get the timing right on getting both gems, its a bit tight, getting it before the right chamber breaks out.

Then I flew left through the creeper stream and setup base there. The first Phantom attack was conveniently timed to hit during the crossing of the creeper stream, so did not damage.

After that it was a slow slug through all the fields.

I prefer to avoid playing tag with the drones, and its not necessary for Dazora either. I made a short video showing how you can use shields instead to survive the first bits.

ste looks impossible to me.  I see no way to get a dark beam up in time (or to power it in the limited build space) to keep off the 10M emitter + drones with surface access.

You had to fly the LS towards the shields to build them faster. Then turn the LS around and go after the white gem. You get the gem just in time to turn around and build a wall of shields above where you need to dig in. To clarify, in this picture those shields are still being built.

It didn't occur to me to fly towards them once I had the squares in range.  It only buys you a few seconds anyway.

Not much of a challenge unless you try to speedplay it. There is no threat to contain, and you can buildup till your ready. I did try a semi-speedplay and managed to get a time of 6 min 3 sec.

Those I personally find fun, are those with early breakthroughs, and/or limited buildspace. If the threat is contained from the start and you have free time for building, it gets boring rather quick imo.

Yeah, without something to challenge it's no big deal.

Death Maker has an exposed emitter that's not much of a threat.

DeadWorld is likewise no big deal.

Deadhooker has a supertitan in the basement.

DeaconSlim is a build-all experimental cakewalk.

Davie1982 is routine

Tromain is routine

sir kameel is routine.

samboni has a breakout but it's not a serious threat.

ryleythecool has me and I think it's impossible.  The biggest problem is a volcano just to the right of center.  (An emitter with a field that vomits up the creep onto the surface.)  I was barely keeping that at bay (and probably wouldn't have been able to keep doing so) but defending against the dozen phantoms was out of the question.  The left is going to break through fairly quickly and in not too long a bunch of strength 19 drones will break out into the volcano.  There is no place big enough to dig into, the center-left has stones and the far right has an ore block in the way.

ryk421 has me also although I'm not going to call it impossible as there is a space to dig in and a tasty gem.  Virtually the entire surface of the map will quickly flood and drones hit me just as I was about to collect the gem.

Ronini has an emitter with surface access but there's more space and no fields.  It's only a minor hindrance.

Ringo is routine.

redz12 is tricky.  An exposed emitter will quickly flood most of the surface, there's one little corner you can defend (although I had creep on my ship at one point) and you'll have to defend a breakout into your base.  (I was able to seal it off with repulsors.)

You managed to sneak that shield in while the field pushed the creep the other way?  I've never been successful at getting a shield into the space directly next to an emitter even with fields.  Getting one into a diagonal space is hard enough!

I also can't imagine how you got that much stuff up that fast.  To account for the energy you spent you must have gone for energy production first but if you did that you couldn't get those shields around the volcano and it's first pulse would have been lethal.

ryleythecool was a fun challenge. I was trying for minor energy production at first. but I couldn't hold the "volcano" back. you could build 2 reactors and still cap it, but that delays the timing to get the gems.
I found that if you just build the five shields overtop the volcano you have enough to grab the red gem and then the white gem before the first phantom wave.

Just a helpful pointer when looking at people's screens. I believe it takes 40 seconds for a reactor to pay for itself. So if someone has alot of production at the 30 second mark it means they went for gems.


I gave  ryk421 a try and managed to do it. the beginning was rough and I ended up at pretty much a standstill for a few minutes, but I made it.

You managed to sneak that shield in while the field pushed the creep the other way?  I've never been successful at getting a shield into the space directly next to an emitter even with fields.  Getting one into a diagonal space is hard enough!

I also can't imagine how you got that much stuff up that fast.  To account for the energy you spent you must have gone for energy production first but if you did that you couldn't get those shields around the volcano and it's first pulse would have been lethal.

ryleythecool was a fun challenge. I was trying for minor energy production at first. but I couldn't hold the "volcano" back. you could build 2 reactors and still cap it, but that delays the timing to get the gems.
I found that if you just build the five shields overtop the volcano you have enough to grab the red gem and then the white gem before the first phantom wave.

Just a helpful pointer when looking at people's screens. I believe it takes 40 seconds for a reactor to pay for itself. So if someone has alot of production at the 30 second mark it means they went for gems.

pocketdare is slightly cramped, the first chamber has fields and tons of drones that make it a pain to get into but not actually a problem.

pfffrt went pfft.  Build-all, experimental, no phantoms, no breakthroughs.

Pakars is build-all and easy.

Ozzozo has an exposed emitter and drone base as well as a cramped build.  There were enough gems that I got it, though.  I also had to use anti-creeper to kill the final emitter.

orangina is a royal pain.  Cramped build, multiple breakthroughs to the surface, fields everywhere.  It's survivable only because of the inverted gravity but it still took me over 80 minutes.

ocean has a bit cramped build and breakouts but they're no threat.  The superchamber & fields make it slow.

Nysik might be doable for those who play drone tag.  There's a chamber open to the surface with a drone base an a emitter.  No gems, limited build space.

niahoo is sideways but otherwise routine.

Minatious is one of these stone-wall maps.  One chamber with one emitter/drones/fields.  Cakewalk.

mcgolden has one big chamber with fields, no challenge though.

mem is a bit tricky.  Until I grabbed the gems in the right order it got me.  It's sideways build, phantoms and a breakout of very tough drones at ~1:30.

me6 is a bit cramped but otherwise routine.  The breakout is so late it's irrelevant.

MatrixQ is tricky at the start--sideways and with a lot of phantoms on a very short timer.  Once you get your coils up it's routine.

Malit is experimental, build-all, no breakouts, no phantoms.  Trivial.

malibo29 is a bit cramped with a breakout but it's not a big deal.

lyssta1 has an exposed emitter and drone base but the gem provides enough to get one's defenses up.

lunarknight64 is experimental, build-all.  The only challenge is the phantoms.

LMGMLG allows you to dig past the creep, I had 80 energy before I built a single weapon.

LazyLizard won't let you be lazy at the start!  Cramped, exposed emitter + 4? more with breakthroughs.  A dozen phantoms.  The only saving grace is the gravity.

Lanroks is routine.

krf19053 would be very hard except for the fields.  A dozen phantoms, your build area is basically limited to one row as there is a chamber virtually all the way across just under the surface, 3 breakout points.  You can kill the emitter with an unsupported neutralizer, though.

krey--experimentals, zero-g, no phantoms.  Work quick, though, there's an exposed emitter.

Kingo has an exposed emitter that's no threat because of gravity.  The build is somewhat cramped but one launcher suffices to keep the creep in check, it's not a problem.

Khotekki is a bit cramped but so what.

KernoX is a bit cramped but so what.

Are you sure you're not having a typing problem?  You are annoying due to the build sideways but I see nothing in there that constitutes a threat.

SD - not sure at what point you are having the problem, but this is how I started yours. Screenshots at 1:16 and 3:30. This should give you a good enough power base to attack that large group of Drones. With really heavy gravity, it is a good idea to attack from the right and use maxed out AC.

Please post back any details on further problems.

jp535 has a tough start with a surface emitter and not a lot of space but otherwise is just a slogging match.

JoshT is routine.

Jord has defeated me.  Breakouts on both sides, one with tough drones.  Very little build space.

Johs has me stopped also.  There's an insane storm of drones.

joe is very cramped, it takes ages before you can engage the first chamber.  Beyond that it's routine.

jfskibumjr is cramped at the start but otherwise routine.

jctreese has an exposed emitter and mega drone base.  They're just deep enough I survived.

4xC, large, hard. Incredible masterpiece of computer AI. Like "Answer, Day 12" of main story, but more interesting and balanced. You need to act really-really fast in the start to destroy first gate and emitter with a small force, then show strategy genius to rid off others. All techs are to be used to win. The map is well-balanced - you don't need to dig into far corners to get bonuses, but should be everywhere in a time. Multitasking and forces sharing is encouraged. Oh. And amount of ore is just enough to win. Thank you, Great Matrix!

What map are you talking about??  4xC has no breakouts, you're free to build up as much as you want before engaging.  Since the toughest emitter on there is only 4.8M it can't get all that hard no matter how long you let it build up.

If you're inept you don't stand a chance against inept_celt.  Exposed emitter, drone base and a dozen phantoms mean you're quick or you're dead.  Once you're established it's routine.

More ages past, gumgajua is easy.

GuiZe has experimentals but lots of build space, it's a cakewalk.

I did my own map but dang did it take forever. I got about 37 minutes. :D

I'd rate my map (if i could) as a hard one, but really beatable.

Do i need to color code something here? or no. I honestly don't know.

a was pretty fun, it's kinda not challenging if only for the fact you can just wait until you get all the upgrades before going into the creeper and killing it naturally.

I played MeanKitty, but not on the setting taht was on the chart, i did it on large/high because i forgot to look at it's category. wasn't hard in the least, all i had was 7 phantom coils, 3 blasters (at the end) and 1 dark beam with probably... 27 mirrors xD
