I'm not a fan of middle men like Steam and GOG, and I'd rather hold off buying CW4 till later if it is going to be released as a Stand-Alone a some point?

The GOG version https://www.gog.com/game/creeper_world_4 can be stand-alone.
A version that does not have GOG Achievements should be on this website before the year's end. hopefully sooner.
As for an announcement, I imagine here on the website, perhaps the blog and on Twitter.

Is there going to be a direct download of the demo? There seems to only be a Steam version. I was wanting to try it in Crossover, but Steam won't let me download it because I"m running on a Mac.
