I know I can search CW for the maps here in the forums BUT...it would be cool if there was a link in each forum post that automatically brought you to the map within the game.

It would certainly be a nice thing to have.
That "link" would have to know which game and how to start the game on your particular PC - on either Windows, Mac or Linux. I think it's a little less convoluted for you to simply within the custom maps for each game to locate a map.

Yes, because it links to a URL. similar URLs exist for CW2. As far as I am aware (and I know you will correct me if I am mistaken) no such URLs exist for CW3 and PF:E - nor does the corresponding web pages.
