I didn't fix it... per-say. I just removed the combination lock altogether. It was too confusing, and didn't really add anything... plus it was really finicky. So instead, I have an even more devious concoction in store. :D

I'm staying off the forums this weekend until ATF2 is done, but I came back real quick to make an announcement. If you want to see how ATF2 is progressing, send me an email at EbonHeartCW@gmail.com and I can send you a link to a screen sharing program that'll let you see what I'm doing on the map. I wasn't happy with the boss fight... it was a fairly anti climactic ending, so i'm actually redoing it to hopefully make it more epic. :D
(no, sharing my gmail account set up specifically for creeper world is not giving away personal information. I will rage if you sensor it.)
link taken down. and I'm about ready for bed. send me an email tomorrow and I can set up another link

just to clarify, we did a skype call last night, and I was screensharing with mpete... so he was offering advice, and yelling at me when I typed field coordinates in wrong. :P

Odd, I was monitoring the old subspace channels this morning.  Normally, there's nothing but static... But the strangest message just came through.  The message seems to have a transmission ID, but it's a bit garbled.  All I received for the transmitter ID was:  "E_on H__r_"

Message follows:

Good news everyone! I am receiving a prophecy from the creeper world gods. It appears to be about the future of this adventure. I will relay the message to you now.

6#+* !3#%% 2#=8 #+~ 6#+* !3#%% @2*
9&5 #! $?2 538 !#=8, 38 14%% +?5 ~48
6?28 @3#%%8+=8! #1#45, ~? +?5 ~8+*
$?2 6#+* #+~ 6#+* # ~2#=?+ !3#%% $%*

# 382? !3#%% 6?&2+, #+~ # 6#4~8+ !3#%% ~48.

The message seems to have been garbled. I'm sorry, I've done all I can. Perhaps you will find a hint as to the meaning of this message later on.

After many nights of red bull, mind-numbing crunching and late nights at the office, our scientists finally got it! :D
The translated message reads:

"many shall rage and many shall cry
and as for the sage, he will not die
more challenges await, do not deny
for many and many a dragon shall fly
and under the wizard's watchful eye
a hero shall mourn, and a maiden shall die"

tsk tsk, how did you make such a mistake.
In all seriousness though, wow good job code cracking.

That was kind of my mistake. He originally had, "out" and I had thought it was supposed to be, "and" so I had him change it. We were both wrong. lol.

EDIT: I had presumed it was a mistake in my code, and the grammar error in his version bugged me. Glad to know I got the code right, though.

How did you crack it? Was I the only one not in on this or something.

It's fairly simple once you know how it works. Each symbol corresponds to a letter, you start with the most obvious words like "and" and you can use the letters you find there for the longer words. That said, I would never have the patience of Echo to crack the whole code.

Ebon Heart

And b3o4o only knows this because Echo was describing the process step-by-step in chat. But now that you guys know the poem early (the translation for it won't be given until ATF3) I suppose I should ask what you think of it. :P

"Many shall rage,"
So archaic! :P

I'm about ready to start playtesting for A Tragedy Forgotten Part 2. Message me if interested! (you will be given a file without text, playtesters don't know the story early.)
