I would love to see the features in CW:US implimented in CW2.
Mainly the packet control buttons (Maybe improve though by there being 3 click states - On, Priority, and Off.
And the speed control, offering double, and half speed.
well, this has been discussed before. The main opinion is no, because in cw1, you could only activate/deactivate weapons. in cw2, you activate/deactivate everything except nullifiers.
Exactly. (Searching the forums really helps! ;))
And regarding gameplay at double speed: this isn't possible for CW2, because significantly less time goes into rendering the graphics and more into calculations that need to be done anyway. Hence there is less time to gain by skipping screen updates every other frame.

And C-Bombs!
I sometimes find that I've got a power deficit because I'm over committed, and I go around shutting down the building of everything I don't need (Tech Domes are the worst culprit for power drain), but Conversion Bombs under construction can not be deactivated and either need to be left alone, or destroyed if you really need to stop the power suck.
Should I campaign for a 'deactivate button' on C-Bombs, or just learn not to build things that I can't afford?!?

You can select a C-bomb along with another unit (in that order, I think), then deactivate both. Subsequently reactivate the other unit, and you have your goal.

Oooooooh!
Nice work around - but you must select a unit that can be deactivated
first, otherwise Activate/Deactivate is not an option.
Does this mean that we've uncovered an oversight?
Should things like Mirrors and C-Bombs, which don't drain power
except when they're being built have the deactivate button?

In my opinion yes. This also has already been brought up in another topic, namely http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=7550.msg50706#msg50706
The mirrors really should. Their behaviour when deactivated can sometimes be extremely useful

Every day I learn something new about this game - and that's two things today!
Thanks for the tips guys.
Also thanks for the link to the prior discussion - I'm fairly new to the forums and though I've sampled most of the topics, I've got to admit I've not waded through every single post...
Something kind of similar to packet filtering that I would still like to see is the option to keep weapons firing without requesting additional packets - there are so many times I want to do this but can't, and I have to leave a weapon at full ammo while deactivating it which is really wasteful..

I wish my awesome powers add more then infinity! 8) (Yes I know)
I already requested this in April during beta, so don't get your hopes up too high. In CW1 this became possible with the introduction of the packet filter (about a year after the game was released), but it's still not possible for individual weapons (unless you disconnect them from the network).
Yet everyone here spoke only of half of my suggestion.
I still would like 1/2 and double speed...
I've worked a bit and a speedup capability will be coming in the next cw2 update. Partial speed is something you can get pretty close to by pausing and single stepping. But, if I can come up with some nifty onscreen controls I could also add a half speed option.

Yay! I'd probably use that more often than the increased speed.

Pause the game and hold N. It's slower but not 1/2 mayby 1/20

more like 29/30
