There's a ton of places  that recommends builds. Always a good place to start.

Today my eyes fell on the Maximum PC recommended builds for October 2013.

I was intrigued by the high base price of their lowest tier build, since I'm pretty sure I can put together a really nice PC for around $700 (OS excluded).  Theirs came in a few hundred higher.  What did catch my interest was how closely their mid-tier PC tracked the configuration Virgil and I arrived at for his next build.

Their top-tier PC just seems like a hole waiting for people to throw money into.

Exactly why I plan on coming here when I build my next computer.
I have no experience with price/performance on stuff so coming here would be best I'd think. :D

LifeHacker published their parts lists for a $300, $600 and $1,300 PC today. Pretty interesting.
